District 3 Strategic Plan

Fox River Grove District 3 Strategic Plan

In May 2025, the District 3 Board of Education voted to approve our new strategic plan, developed in collaboration with Hazard, Young, and Attea. This comprehensive plan will guide the district's priorities and goals for the next five years. The plan also lays the groundwork for what a graduate from District 3 looks like when they complete their time in our district and move to the next phase in their educational journey.

This plan is the result of a collaborative effort involving staff, parents, students, and local stakeholders, all of whom contributed to our shared vision. Everyone’s input was vital in shaping the district’s major focus areas, ensuring we guide our growth effectively and support every student’s success.

Portrait of a Graduate

In Fox River Grove District 3, one of our core belief statements is that "all children can learn and reach their full potential." This powerful conviction guides our new strategic plan, which shapes the Portrait of a District 3 Graduate. This framework outlines the characteristics every student will possess, going beyond academics, for success in their next phase of life and beyond.

In the creation of the Portrait of a Graduate strategic plan, there were six vital characteristics that District 3 believes every graduate of District 3 should possess upon completion of their educational journey in Fox River Grove:

  • Leader
  • Learner
  • Achiever
  • Explorer
  • Innovator
  • Collaborator

These characteristics are the foundation of what this strategic plan is built on. Every tactic in this plan will be implemented to build these characteristics in our students. From the superintendent to the child nutrition staff, everyone has a role in this strategic plan and the ultimate goal is student success. As the vision statement says, our commitment, in pursuit of all educational excellence, is to inspire all.
